30th Annual Athens Thanksgiving Turkey Trot benefiting Hope Springs Water

Kick off your Thanksgiving morning with family, friends, and neighbors at the Athens Annual Turkey Trot! This year’s 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run will take place on Thanksgiving Day November 26, 2026 and is the perfect way to start the holiday with community, fitness, and giving back to a worth cause.

This year we are adding a new event. The Kids and Pets Obstacle Course. This a 100 yard run through pool noodle and hula hoops. Kids 10 and under can run with or without a pet. Bring you pet on a leash and get ready to have fun. No elephants or giraffes!! Turtles don't need a leash!

Every step you take helps bring clean water to communities around the world. All proceeds from the event benefit Hope Springs Water, a nonprofit based in Athens, TX, dedicated to providing safe water, improved sanitation, and hygiene education to those in need. By participating, you’re not only celebrating health and togetherness—you’re also helping transform lives through the gift of clean water.
