Bama Runs for Breast Cancer 5K Color Run

Breast cancer affects millions of families every year. Last October, the Bama Runs for Breast Cancer 5K raised almost $4,400 for The DCH Breast Cancer Fund to help local women needing breast cancer screening and patient support. On Friday, October 2, this year’s 5k fundraiser will:

Raise funds for two meaningful causes: DCH Health System's Help & Hope Fund - Paxman Project to provide patients with free Paxman scalp-cooling treatments to prevent hair loss during chemotherapy and boost morale

Universities Against Cancer's The Pink Promise Fund to provide emergency assistance (i.e. utility support, hospital bills, co-pays) as needed for breast cancer patients under an active diagnosis

Promote awareness of breast cancer prevention and support within the UA and greater Tuscaloosa community. Unite the community on and off campus in a meaningful, service-driven initiative, as this 5k run/walk is open to all students, faculty, staff and community members!

The race will start at the University of Alabama 5K Campus Loop (Start: Denny Chimes) with check-in at 1:30 PM and the race kick-off at 2:30 PM. Registration sign-up is $10 (Greek Point Opportunity), or $30 for a full package which includes a t-shirt. If you are running, be sure to check your email for further instructions on signing the required waivers.

If you are registering/sponsoring your organization to run, please make one large donation on the Donate tab, and email [email protected] with a list of your members/desired t-shirt sizes (ex. Donate $1500 to cover 50 runners). Please list your organization name in full, selecting the "other" option when asked who the donation is on behalf of.
