3rd Annual BrooklynRoseStrong 5K Walk/Run
Join us on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the St. Cloud Lakefront in St. Cloud, Florida, for the 3rd Annual BrooklynRoseStrong 5K Family Fun Walk/Run.
This special community event is held in loving memory of Brooklyn Rose Medina, a local DIPG warrior whose courage and strength continue to inspire our mission.
Proceeds from the BrooklynRoseStrong 5K benefit Brooklyn’s Petals of Hope Foundation, which provides direct financial assistance to families facing diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma/diffuse midline glioma (DIPG/DMG), the most lethal form of pediatric cancer.
The first 300 registered participants will receive:
An official BrooklynRoseStrong race-day T-shirt
A finisher medal
Helping Families Through Their Darkest Times
When a child is seriously ill, families often face overwhelming emotional and financial burdens. Parents may need to miss work, travel long distances for treatment, maintain their household expenses, and make impossible decisions during the most difficult time of their lives.
Brooklyn’s Petals of Hope Foundation helps ease those burdens by assisting families with needs such as:
Transportation expenses to and from treatment centers
Monthly mortgage payments
Utility bills
Bereavement support
Funeral expenses for families who have lost a child
Every registration, donation, sponsorship, and fundraising effort helps the foundation provide meaningful support when families need it most.
More Than a Race
The BrooklynRoseStrong 5K is a morning of remembrance, hope, community, and purpose.
Runners and walkers of all ages and experience levels are welcome. Whether you are racing for a personal-best time, walking with your family, participating in memory of a loved one, or standing beside a family affected by DIPG/DMG or childhood cancer, every step makes a difference.
The event will include:
A family-friendly 5K walk/run
A special Kids Dash
Awards for the top male and female finishers
An award for the Largest Team
An award for the Most Spirited Team
Recognition for the Top Individual Fundraiser
Recognition for the Top Team Fundraiser
Create a Team and Multiply Your Impact
Families, businesses, schools, churches, sports teams, civic organizations, and groups of friends are encouraged to participate together.
Create a team, invite others to join, wear your team colors, and bring your spirit on race morning. Participants may also register as individual or team fundraisers to help Brooklyn’s Petals of Hope Foundation reach even more families.
Let’s Carry Brooklyn’s Legacy Forward
