Five kilometers through Lakewood Nature Preserve, followed by an Easter egg hunt, with no cutoff and nothing to prove. This is the family entry point to the Upstate Race Series — the race where the four-year-old in the stroller and the parent pushing it both get a medal at the end.

Course or Race Highlight

Lakewood Nature Preserve is grassy trails and rolling hills just outside Greenville, with plenty of shade and the occasional deer or fox along the way. It is an easy, welcoming place to bring the whole family for a first race. The 10:00 AM start is deliberate — late enough to get everyone fed, dressed, and out the door without a fight.

There is no time limit on this one. Walk it, jog it, stop to look at the water, let the kids run ahead and then catch them. Every finisher receives a medal, and your entry supports local nonprofits through the Giving Series.

A 5K through Lakewood Nature Preserve's grassy trails, finishing at The Barn where the egg hunt takes place. There is no cutoff on this course — take your time and enjoy the preserve.

Are dogs allowed on the course?

Yes — and bunnies.

Are headphones or earbuds allowed?

Yes.

Can someone else pick up my packet for me?

No.

Is there race-day registration?

Yes, you can register on your mobile device on race day.

Where are the start and finish lines?

The finish is at The Barn, where the Easter Egg Hunt kicks off right after. The start line is nearby in the open field.

Is there gear check or somewhere to leave personal items?

No, but your car will be parked within eyesight.

Are there restrooms near the start/finish?

Yes, at The Barn where the finish line is located.

Will I get a medal or a shirt?

All finishers receive a medal. No shirts are available for this one.

What happens if there's bad weather?

Upstate Race Series races run rain or shine. In the event of lightning, extreme heat, or hazardous winter conditions, we'll post an update on this page and email registered runners as early as possible. Entry fees aren't refunded for weather delays — see Managing Your Registration below.

Can spectators come watch?

Spectators are welcome — this one is built for family and friends cheering from the sidelines. Runner parking fills up race morning — if you're only here to cheer, plan for overflow parking nearby. You'll see your runner pass by every lap.

When will results and photos be available?

Live results post to the RunSignUp results page as each runner finishes. Free event photos are usually up within 48–72 hours on our Facebook page — we'll tag the album so it's easy to find.

Are kids and strollers welcome?

Yes — and the Easter Egg Hunt kicks off right after the race, so bring the whole crew.
