Dr. Ronald E. McNair Memorial 5K Run/Walk

The McNair 5K event is an annual event sponsored by the Ron McNair Committee, Lake City, SC. Our mission is to promote health and physical fitness for all ages. Our format and schedule includes a half mile Kids run, for the kids 12 and under, a 1 mile fun walk, and the 5K run (main event). Trophies and awards will be given to winners in the 5K Event and the Kids run. The race course makes use of the city streets of Lake City, and will be available on the website for the Ronald McNair Committee.

In addition to the races. we will also host a free health fair with health screenings, vaccinations, and other health related information/kits for distribution will be available.

Shirts: Shirts can be picked up on the day preceding the race ( 6:00 – 8:00 pm ) and the morning of the race. No guarantee of sizes on the “day of race” registrations.

Shirt Sizes: (Youth Medium – Adult 3X) Adult – Small – 3X Youth- Child medium –Child large

5K Awards: (Overall Awards are based on Gun Time) Top 2 Overall Male & Top 2 Overall Female Top 2 Male & Top Female finishers in each age group

5K Age Groups (Top 2 male and Top females in each age group): 12 & Under, 13-17, 18-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60+

Kids Race ½ mile Awards: Top 3 Overall Male & Top 3 Overall Female

5K Fees: Early Registration Price (Before October 1st -- $15 youth under 18, $25 Adults 18 and older) Late Registration Price (October 1st and later -- $20 youth under 18, $30 Adults 18 and older) Day of Race Price (Same as late registration)

Kids Race ½ mile Fees:

6 & Under Registration- Free

7-18 Registration- $15

Packet Pickup Location and time: McNair Life History Center 235 East Main Street Lake City, SC 29560 Time of packet pickup (6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday and morning of the race)

Event special notes: Strollers are welcome at this event People are welcome to listen to music while running Pets on a leash are welcome at the event. We share parking with the public library. No parking in identified reserved spaces. There are no age restrictions on this event.
