High Mountain Half Marathon 2027

The High Mountain Half Marathon is the perfect summer escape from the heat of Arizona’s lower elevations. Come enjoy cool mountain temperatures, fresh pine air, beautiful scenery, and a race weekend in the heart of Arizona’s White Mountains.

Whether you’re looking for a memorable destination race, a challenging summer half marathon, or the perfect training race for your fall marathon, the High Mountain Half Marathon offers an experience unlike any other.

The Half Marathon is a point-to-point course, with runners shuttled from Blue Ridge High School beginning at 4:40 AM for a cool, crisp 6:00 AM start.

New for 2027 — A Brand-New Course! For 2027, we’re taking runners deeper into the beautiful forests of the White Mountains with an all-new Half Marathon course featuring National Forest Service roads.

Runners will travel through towering pine and cedar forests along Forest Service Roads 182 and 187 before making their way into Pinetop-Lakeside and finishing on the track at Blue Ridge High School.

And the Half Marathon isn’t the only race getting a fresh look! Our Saturday morning 10K and 5K will also feature new courses for 2027.

The fun begins Friday evening with our FREE Kids 1K, followed by the always-popular Glow/Color 3K Run/Walk.

Half Marathon Saturday, August 7, 2027 Start Time: 6:00 AM

Half Marathon Time Limit A 4-hour time limit has been established for the Half Marathon. Participants must complete the course by 10:00 AM, which requires maintaining approximately an 18:19-per-mile pace.

Participants who have not reached the required checkpoints within the designated times may be transported to the finish area by race personnel or the event “sag wagon.”

Participants who choose to continue after course support has ended do so at their own responsibility and must remain safely to the side of the roadway.

These time limits are in place for the safety of our runners, volunteers, race personnel, and community.

10K Saturday, August 7, 2027 Start Time: 6:30 AM

5K Saturday, August 7, 2027 Start Time: 7:00 AM

Our new 5K course is a great way for runners and walkers of all experience levels to be part of race weekend.

Glow/Color 3K Run/Walk Friday, August 6, 2027 Start Time: 8:30 PM

Light up the night at Blue Ridge High School!

The Glow/Color 3K Run/Walk takes participants around the Blue Ridge school campus for a fun, family-friendly nighttime race experience.

Much of the course is not brightly lit, so participants are encouraged to bring glow sticks, headlamps, flashlights, and other light-up gear to make themselves shine.

Music will be playing at various locations along the route to keep the energy going!

Most of the course takes place on the track and paved pathways, with a short section crossing a grass field.

Want some extra color? Participants can choose to travel through the designated color zone and get splashed with color powder—or choose the alternate route and stay color-free.

Get creative with your glow gear and race-night look before heading to the starting line!

A race T-shirt is included with registration.

This is a non-timed event — come out, have fun, and enjoy the night!

FREE Kids 1K Friday, August 6, 2027 Start Time: 8:00 PM Blue Ridge High School Track

Ages: 0–12 Distance: 1K Cost: FREE!

Start race weekend with an event just for our youngest runners!

Registration begins at 4:00 PM Friday and will remain open until race time.

A shirt and medal will be provided to the first 75 registered participants.

Bring the whole family, cheer on our youngest racers, and then stick around for the Glow/Color 3K!
