Course or Race Highlight

This is a summer evening race, which changes everything about how it feels. The heat has come off the pavement, the light is going gold, and by the time you finish, the whole of Bridgeway Station is turning into a party. Directional arrows mark every turn, and off-duty officers hold the course, which is why the 60-minute limit is firm rather than a formality — the roads have to reopen.

Afterward: a cold brew from Bridgeway Brewing Company, The City Market with several food vendors, and all-American tunes under the stars. DJ Uncle Sam himself might even make an appearance. Every finisher gets a patriotic medal and a custom red-white-and-blue race bib, and your entry supports local nonprofits through the Giving Series.

The Course

All paved, flat and fast. Starting right at the Bridgeway Station entrance, runners charge onto the battlefield, storming up and over the iconic Bridgeway Station Bridge, then run through Holland Park and the Swamp Rabbit Trail and around the main parking lot. Directional arrows mark every turn.

Good to Know

Can someone else pick up my packet for me?No

Are dogs allowed on the course?

Yes, of course.

Are headphones or earbuds allowed?

Yes, but be mindful of your surroundings — there are a few road crossings manned by off-duty officers, and they have the final say on your ability to cross.

Is there race-day registration?

Yes, you can register on your mobile device on race day up until the gun goes off.

Where are the start and finish lines?

Both are in front of the cobble brick entrance to Bridgeway Station and the various vendors — we like to call it next to the big castle.

Is there gear check or somewhere to leave personal items?

No, but you can leave your things in your car, which will be within eyesight of the start/finish lines.

Are there restrooms near the start/finish?

Yes, there are bathrooms inside Bridgeway Station.

Is the course marked and safe?

Yes. The course is marked and manned at the three main intersections by off-duty police officers from Mauldin PD. The course does run around the main parking lot, which stays open to patrons of the facility, but runners have the right of way.

Is a beer included?

Yes. After the race, Bridgeway Brewery provides one beer for runners 21+ with ID. The beer comes from the brewery, not from Upstate Race Series. Non-alcoholic beverages are available as well.

Will I get a medal or a shirt?

All finishers get a medal. You can order a shirt during registration or from our store link on the registration page.

What happens if there's bad weather?

Upstate Race Series races run rain or shine. In the event of lightning, extreme heat, or hazardous winter conditions, we'll post an update on this page and email registered runners as early as possible. Entry fees aren't refunded for weather delays — see Managing Your Registration below.

Can spectators come watch?

Spectators are welcome. Runner parking fills up race morning — if you're only here to cheer, plan for overflow parking nearby.

When will results and photos be available?

Live results post to the RunSignUp results page as each runner finishes. Want your finish time the moment you cross the line? Sign up for result notifications by text or email. Free event photos are usually up within 48–72 hours on our Facebook page — we'll tag the album so it's easy to find.
