The Sandpoint Marathon is more than a race; it's a celebration of running, community, and the start of summer in North Idaho. Headquartered at historic War Memorial Field, Sandpoint's lakeside stadium, the weekend brings together runners of every level, from first-time 5K walkers to seasoned marathoners chasing 26.2 miles of lake, mountain, and small-town scenery. Every course showcases the best of the region: waterfront trails, sweeping views of the Selkirk and Cabinet Mountains, and streets lined with locals ringing cowbells and cheering you home.

But the finish line is only the beginning. Anchoring the weekend is the Beginning of Summer festival , a lively festival filling War Memorial Field with local vendors, artisans, food trucks, craft beverages, and live music. Race Lineup Marathon: 26.2 miles of lake and mountain scenery for the ultimate challenge Half Marathon: 13.1 miles along the waterfront and through town, ideal for first-timers and PR-chasers alike 10K: A scenic 6.2-mile route out along the Ponderay Bay Trail and back 5K: A flat, fast, family-friendly 3.1 miles open to runners, walkers, and strollers

Weekend Schedule Saturday, June 4: 5K and 10K, followed by the opening of the Beginning of Summer Market Sunday, June 5: Marathon and Half Marathon starting at 8:00 AM, with the market and finish festival running all day
