Join us for The Fast & The Furriest, a dog-friendly 5K supporting the incredible work of Gulf Coast Humane Society! This year’s race will be held at Edison Mall in Fort Myers and will feature a fun morning of running, walking, wagging tails, and giving back.

5K Run/Walk Enjoy our chip-timed 5K course through and around Edison Mall. Whether you're running for a personal best or walking with your pup, all paces are welcome!

Bring Your Dog!

The Fast & The Furriest is dog-friendly, so bring your well-behaved, leashed pup along for the fun! Water will be available for both people and pets throughout the course.

Pre & Post-Race Stretch

Get ready to move and recover after the race with a pre-race warm-up and post-race cool-down led by Club Pilates.

Local Vendors & Food

Make a morning of it! Local vendors and food trucks will be on-site before and after the race. Grab a bite to fuel up before you run, or stick around afterward to refuel, shop, and check out what our community partners have to offer.

Proceeds from The Fast & The Furriest benefit Gulf Coast Humane Society and help provide care, shelter, medical services, and other lifesaving support for animals in our community. Every registration helps make a difference!

Additional Safety & Consideration Guidelines

To help keep the event safe and enjoyable for everyone, please observe the following:

Standard Leashes Only: Retractable leashes are not permitted. Leashes must be no longer than 6 feet.

One Dog Per Participant: Each runner or walker may bring one dog.

Well-Behaved Dogs Only: Dogs should be comfortable around crowds, other dogs, and loud noises.

Vaccinations: Dogs must be current on rabies and core vaccinations.

No Aggressive Dogs: Dogs displaying aggressive behavior may be asked to leave the event.

Clean Up After Your Dog: Please bring bags and clean up after your pet. Poop bags will also be available on-site.

Hydration Stations: Water will be available for both people and pets throughout the course.

Event Staff Reserves the Right to Remove Any Participant (Human or Canine): If safety becomes a concern, we may ask a participant to step away from the event area.
