You’re In. Welcome to UltraTrax Wisp.

On April 10, 2027, you’ll take on a full day of movement, challenge, and time on the trails at Wisp Resort.

This year’s revised course features even more trail mileage and some of the best of Western Maryland’s Appalachian terrain. Starting from the resort base, you’ll climb into the mountain through wooded ski runs and service roads before moving onto flowing single-track, wide double-track paths, and ridge trails overlooking Deep Creek Lake. From the high point of the course, the route turns downhill through tree-lined trails and mountain connectors before bringing you back to the heart of Wisp Resort.

Whether you’re here to walk 7 miles or push all the way to 28, the challenge is yours to define.

10 hours. One 7-mile loop. Four distances. How far will you go?

Complete your goal within the 10-hour event window. Want another layer of challenge? Take it on with a 10, 20, or 35 lb. ruck or weighted vest.

The course will be clearly marked from start to finish, with well-stocked aid stations positioned along the route to keep you fueled and moving.

Trek Day Saturday, April 10, 2027 Wisp Resort, McHenry, MD

The start line is open between 7am-10am and is divided into corrals based on distance. 28 milers get started at 7am, 21 milers at 7:45am, 14 milers at 8:30am, and 7 milers at 9:15am.

UltraTrax is not a race, but it is a timed endurance event. You’ll have up to 10 hours to complete your chosen distance.

Move at your pace. Take breaks when you need them. Then keep going.

Bib Pickup

Your bib may be mailed to you in advance or picked up on event morning.

Participants registering after March 25, 2027 must pick up their bib in person.

Taking on the Ruck Challenge? If you registered for a weighted division, you’ll need to bring your own ruck, backpack, or weighted vest.

Your pack will be weighed before you begin. Everything in the pack counts toward your required weight except perishable food and drinks.

What’s Waiting at the Finish Finishers will receive:

A custom UltraTrax finisher medal (Grey Wolf Medal for 28 and 21 milers, Trail Wolf Medal for 14 and 7 milers)

After your trek, stick around and enjoy the Base Camp atmosphere at Wisp Resort. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, giving you a chance to recover, refuel, and celebrate with other participants.

Friends and family are welcome to join you at Base Camp.

What to Expect at Wisp A True Mountain Experience Expect a mix of wooded ski runs, service roads, single-track, double-track, and ridge trails with views across Deep Creek Lake. The course combines steady climbing with rewarding high points and a long descent back toward the resort base.

A Challenge You Choose There is no single definition of success at UltraTrax. Walk your first 7 miles, chase 28, or add weight and see what you can carry.

Support Along the Way Expect a well-marked course, stocked aid stations, event staff, and a community of people working toward their own goals alongside you.

Parking Complimentary parking is available onsite at Wisp Resort.
