Join us for the 2nd Annual Uwharrie Brewing Firehouse Walk/Run 5K & 1-Mile — a family-friendly celebration of fitness, community, and our local fire service tradition.

This special event honors the historic firehouse, celebrates Uwharrie Brewing Firehouse Red, supports the Albemarle Fire Department, and kicks off Fire Prevention Week (October 4–10, 2026). Fire Prevention Week 2026 theme, “Charge into Fire Safety: Safe Charging Is a Superpower,” focuses on lithium-ion battery charging safety.

Whether you’re racing for a personal best, walking with friends, pushing a stroller, or cheering from the sidelines — this event is truly a race for every pace.

Registration Perks

Race T-Shirt included for all participants registered by October 1st, 2026 - Need to register by September 21st to insure you will have your shirt on race day. Participants 21+ receive a complimentary Uwharrie Brewing beer after the race Under 21 or prefer non-alcoholic? Choose from soft drinks, coffee, tea, or lemonade from Cascade Coffee. Race Day Fun (Stay After the Finish!)

Firefighter Challenge 5K

Participants are required to be active paid or volunteer firefighters and are required to wear Turnout gear to compete in this category. Turnout Coat and Pants with or without liners, Helmet, and Gloves. Footwear is up to the participant. It is suggested to not wear turnout boots. The winner of this challenge will receive $200.00. 2nd Place will receive $100.00. It will be Chip Timed. Pricing for this event is discounted for our Firefighters.
